Welcome to my anime figure preorder roundup.
You are reading The NekoFigs Blog preorder roundup where I take a look at the new bishoujo scale figures going up for preorder. Ultimately, I try to assess which ones are worth preordering. Before you proceed, do take note that this is written from the point of view of someone who likes to make informed purchases. Anime figures are quite expensive so I believe it is important for many collectors that they buy only the best of the best to get the best value for their money. Essentially, I hope the content of these roundups can help everyone else to make informed decisions on their figure purchases.
Please consider using my affiliate links when making your preorders. These preorder roundups take tens of hours to create it’s almost like a full-time job so any small amount I can earn from affiliate commissions will help towards sustaining this blog. I am an affiliate partner of Solaris Japan, Hobby Link Japan, CD Japan and Amazon JP and these are my affiliate links. You can also find my affiliate links throughout this post. If you’ve used my affiliate links today or have used them in the past, please have my most heartfelt thanks.
As a disclaimer, my opinion on these figures that I review is my opinion only. I am not always correct with my predictions but I know I usually am. You may disagree with my recommendations and that’s fine. After all, this hobby is all about the joy that comes with collecting anime figures. As long as you are happy with your purchase, then that is money well spent.
I’d also like to remind everyone to avoid any figures made by Pulchra, FOTS Japan, Insight B’Full, Apricot Blossom, and any other companies affiliated with them. I’m putting this here as a reminder since I won’t be featuring these figures in my blog as they are of very poor quality and a waste of space.

Girls Frontline – M950A – Shibuya Scramble Figure – 1/7 – The Warbler And The Rose Ver. (eStream)
From the looks of things thus far, I think this might be one of the prettiest figures in this roundup. I am not a Girls Frontline fan but I like her design. The base is cool and it’s got an extreme amount of detail. Her biting the strap of her dress so it doesn’t fall off is a nice touch. The burnt effect of the dress also gives it character. Though I’m not a big fan of “damaged effects” on figures, I think this is fine since it doesn’t seem like the character is hurt. It could do without the panty shot and I would not think any less of the overall presentation of the figure.
It’s not without flaws, however. I’m pretty sure she’s supposed to have stockings because of the garter belt but it looks like those patterns on her legs are only painted over the skin so they did not create a sculpt for the stockings. That just seems lazy.
Should you preorder this? Seeing that eStream is manufacturing this one, you can expect the price to be at a premium. It’s hard to tell if she will bin in the aftermarket so maybe preordering is the way to go if you don’t want to miss out. Perhaps we can make a case for it that the price may be justified considering the level of detail.
Azur Lane – Indomitable – 1/6 (AniGame)
If you follow my blog, you probably already know that I am a big Azur Lane fan so what would I not give for a figure of the voluptuous Indomitable? In a perfect world, I would have preordered this in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I have to listen to the voice of reason. If I preorder every new Azur Lane figure that gets announced, I’ll be living in the streets in no time. Still, I’m thinking about this more after seeing that this is a provisional preorder so there’s a good chance that not all preorders will be fulfilled which will result in her price exploding in the aftermarket.
This figure, by the way, is based on Indomitable’s “Ms. Motivationless Maid” skin. Frankly, I would have preferred her default skin which could be a really grand figure.
Also, this is a cast-off with no nudity which is similar to Taihou’s AniGame figure.
Should you preorder this? I’m thinking about this hard since there’s a good chance the price will go up in the aftermarket and I might regret it later. Or maybe I’ll just wait for Ulrich, Chesire and Richelieu.
As you can see, the fate of my wallet is looking quite grim. So help a bloke out by preordering using my affiliate links whenever you can!
NieR:Automata Ver1.1a – Pod 042 – YoRHa No. 2 Type B – 1/7 – Deluxe Edition (Aniplex, Connect Rect)
I know I already have 2B’s figure from Flare which is a really good figure but I just really had to have this one since it just looks so good with that action pose. And of course, I got the Deluxe edition. The regular edition without Pod 042 and that gorgeous base would be a real downer. I guess it’s not bad but until you see the extra details of the deluxe edition. There’s no way I’m choosing the standard edition after seeing this. I’m just speculating here but maybe the standard edition will tank in the aftermarket.
This might be the last 2B figure that I buy unless something really good comes out. Maybe 2B in a non-canon outfit would be nice (except a 1/4 scale bunny).
In any case, it’ll be hard to top this one especially since Square-Enix (which sucks as a figure manufacturer) makes the bulk of Nier:Automata figures.
Also, Aniplex is also doing an A2 figure which I hope would be as good, if not better than this.
Should you preorder this? Yes. You can preorder the Deluxe Edition from Aniplex or preorder the Standard Edition from Solaris Japan.
Kanojo, Okarishimasu – Mizuhara Chizuru – CA Works – 1/7 – Party Dress Ver. (Kadokawa)
This might be just a smidge too expensive for such a simple figure. I think her eyes look a little too big in this figure. Still, Mizuhara looks gorgeous but at this price point, I would recommend instead getting her Good Smile Company figure instead which I think looks better and is cheaper. I thought CA Works was only for Chara-Ani and Kadokawa works on KDColle lines but I guess Kadokawa does sometimes take on the CA Works line. It’s not actually a problem because compared to Chara-Ani, Kadokawa overall creates better quality figures.
Should you preorder this? Take your pick between this or Good Smile Company’s Mizuhara figure. This one isn’t marked as a limited or exclusive release so it’s perplexing why only a handful of stores carry her. The only noteworthy store that carries her is Amiami.
Azur Lane – Taihou – 1/7 – Phoenix’s Spring Song Ver. (Alter)
Alter is great and is usually the best choice for any figure for any character. However, the price can be on the extreme end. This is one of those figures on the extreme end of pricing. If you’re an Azur Lane, you’ll know that Taihou is easily one of the most popular characters in the franchise so expect that the aftermarket prices won’t be kind.
Incidentally, Taihou figure from AniGame is still on preorder and I recommend getting the DX version so you get the Dress version with Alternate parts for the lingerie version. Getting both versions of the figure in one bundle is also an option if you prefer to have both. Maybe one to display in the living room and another one to display in the bedroom or man cave.
Still, if you prefer to get Alter’s Taihou, the preorder links are below.
Should you preorder this? As I’ve already mentioned, Taihou is easily one of the most popular characters in the franchise so expect that the aftermarket prices won’t be kind. Preordering will be key.
Azur Lane – Cheshire – 1/6 – Dakimakura Cover Illust. Ver. (AniGame)
What I wouldn’t give for a good figure of Cheshire? This is nice and all but I am really bothered by that support pole. Couldn’t AniGame at least make it a transparent color so it isn’t that pronounced?
This by the way comes with a nice surprise when you view it from behind which now seems to be a common trend with many Azur Lane figures. Also, this comes with a faux fur base if you prefer to display her lying down though that would be difficult.
Should you preorder this? This would be a good preorder if you’re considering it. I would openly recommend preordering her. I know I want her but then I’m also thinking if I should just wait for Alter’s Cheshire.
Isekai Meikyuu de Harem o – Roxanne – KDcolle – 1/7 – Hyoujyu Issei Comic Ver. Next Color (Kadokawa, Wing)
I hope these Roxanne figures sell well enough that companies will start to think of making figures of the other girls in the series.
I guess this recolor makes the figure pop out more. However, it doesn’t seem like this has the cast-off parts. Just like what I mentioned in the previous roundup, it’s a mortal sin to create a figure of Roxanne that is not a cast-off.
Should you preorder this? If you like this color variant and don’t mind that this is probably not cast-off then go ahead. Actually, I would recommend preorder if you ever want to see figures of the other girls in the series namely, Sherry, Miria, Vesta and Rutina. Heck, even a figure of Cassia would be a welcome addition to my collection.
Users outside of Japan can only order her from Amiami and a few other stores.
Kanojo, Okarishimasu – Mizuhara Chizuru – 1/6 – See-through Lingerie (Hakoiri Musume)
I see Hakoiri Musume really likes giving Mizuhara the lewd treatment. This one even appeals to voyeurs. However, I’m not a fan of Mizuhara’s face in this figure. They didn’t get her face. The changing room base/backdrop is a good addition. It seems we’re seeing a lot of these backdrop gimmicks on new figures. The neat thing about this one is that you can position it backwards and you can sort of peek at Mizuhara changing, hence the voyeur thing. I’m assuming the base has only one peg that would allow you to adjust the direction she is facing.
Depending on your preferences, you can also remove the sheer parts of the lingerie.
Should you preorder this? She’s on the expensive side but given the huge/base and backdrop, I think preordering might be worthwhile. I don’t think the aftermarket prices will be crazy so either way should be fine.
Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu – Rem – 1/7 – Aqua Dress (Design Coco)
This has got to be one of the prettier Rem figures I’ve seen as of late. I’ve mostly been annoyed whenever I see another new figure of Rem because we just simply have too much right now.
Frankly, I am somewhat concerned about how the Aqua Dress theme can withstand the test of time. I say this because I’ve had a few figures where the crystal-like and water-like parts end up becoming yellowish. I have not yet found a solution to this. I’ve read up online and people mentioned bleach could fix this but that’s with regular plastics. Not sure if it will cause any damage to PVC figures.
I think I’ll refer to this figure as the poor man’s Rem Crystal Dress version figure. For reference, here is the standard Crystal Dress version.
As for the manufacturer, Design Coco, I am not too fond of the quality that they produce, at their best, they are only mediocre. Also, they’ve been known to do a lot of manufacturing jobs for Union Creative which is well-known in the anime figure-collecting community as being of crappy quality.
Should you preorder this? The concept is really nice but it’s on the expensive side. Also, I’m not too confident with the manufacturer. If you’re planning to preorder, you should manage your expectations. If you’re just looking for any good Rem figure to add to the collection, there are plenty of good ones in the aftermarket.
Street Fighter – Chun-Li – 1/6 (Max Factory)
Chun-Li with the killer thighs! This is easily the best PVC scale figure of Chun-Li that isn’t a 1/4 scale and it’s mighty pricey at over ¥30k. I see some people talking about her price going down in the aftermarket but I’m somewhat skeptical if it will actually happen.
Should you preorder this? If you don’t want to miss out, it’d be best to preorder her.
Hololive – Yukihana Lamy – 1/6 (Max Factory)
Is she popular? I’m not a big Hololive fan so I’m not sure how this will fare in the aftermarket. Despite the high price though, I see a lot of people have immediately preordered. This is her first proper scale figure so unless some other company makes another figure, the aftermarket price will not likely go down.
I see some people complaining about her proportions but I think she looks just fine. We’ve just been spoiled for seeing too many unrealistic thicc thighs that we think it’s weird when we see actual human-like body proportions.
Should you preorder this? If you think she’s worth the preorder price, go ahead. This is guaranteed to be of excellent quality.
Kimetsu no Yaiba – Kamado Nezuko – Mugen Train (Good Smile Company)
Oh, it’s the scene from the Mugen Train Arc. This is nice though I’m thinking it can be quite difficult to display. It might be impossible to fit in any dustproof display unless you have one custom-made for it. Since dust would be a big problem for this figure, it’d be nice if the manufacturer would provide a means to seal it though it is very unlikely. I would probably cut out an acrylic sheet to size and find a good way to use that to cover her. Actually, scratch that. Covering this to be dust-proof would be more challenging than I initially thought since it has parts protruding from out of the diorama.
This is not made to scale but given the height (36 cm), I’m guessing this is close to 1/6 or 1/7 scale. Definitely not 1/4.
Regarding the price, it costs a boatload of money.
Should you preorder this? Is she worth it? I’m not so sure. But since this is GSC we’re talking about, the quality should be good.
SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy – Shermie – Bishoujo Statue – 1/7 (Kotobukiya)
I think part of the allure of anime figures is the anime eyes. However, this one covers the eyes so it fails in that regard. I’m not very familiar with the SNK franchise so I’m not really sure if Shermie was ever seen showing her eyes.
Should you preorder this? It’s moderately priced but I’m thinking this will tank in the aftermarket so it might be best to get her there.
Phantasy Star Online 2 es – Gene – 1/7 – Summer Vacation (Sol International)
I’m legit thinking it PSO2 is still relevant to this day. I only tried the game for a few days before. I didn’t stick around for long. As for the figure, it looks nice though the chest area is not very realistic. Sol International is of decent quality.
Should you preorder this? Despite all I said above, I’m thinking this will tank in the aftermarket just like most other PSO figures.
Vocaloid – Hatsune Miku – 1/1 – Symphony 2022 Ver. (Good Smile Company)
This figure only stands at 31cm so don’t be confused by the 1/1 scale. Honestly, this being priced at over ¥24k is ludicrous just for the fact that there are so many Hatsune Miku figures in the aftermarket that it makes no sense to splurge on any single Miku figure unless you’re a Miku-only collector and you are sure the aftermarket price will be ludicrous.
Should you preorder this? Waiting until she hits the aftermarket might be the way to go or just go find a different Miku figure in the aftermarket now.
Princess Connect! Re:Dive – Natsume Kokoro – Shibuya Scramble Figure – 1/7 – Princess (Alpha Satellite, eStream)
I still haven’t gotten over how Crunchyroll fucked all PriConne global players when they shut down the game especially when the JP version is still thriving. I have since vowed to never ever give Crunchyroll my money. Thankfully, they don’t own the rights to Princess Connect and any other major IPs that I like so I can buy figures with reckless abandon.
Looking at this figure right now still gives me the same feeling as when I saw Kokoro weeping after Yuuki was stabbed by Kaiser. I could easily preorder this now but then again, there are cheaper figures of Kokoro in the aftermarket.
Should you preorder this? PriConne isn’t very popular with the global audience so there’s a good chance that her price drops in the aftermarket. That’s not a guarantee however so if you want to secure her, it’d be best to preorder.
I’ll actually be watching how Pecorine’s eStream figure will do in the aftermarket but it seems like her release will be delayed.
Fate/Grand Order – Altria Pendragon – B-style – 1/4 – Ruler (FREEing)
Frankly, it has been a while since I’ve actually cared about anything from FGO since I’ve long abandoned playing the game. But it looks like it’s still bringing in the money if they can charge this much money for a 1/4 scale bunny figure from FREEing. Granted, this one does have more details compared to your run-of-the-mill B-Style figure. But does it really warrant a price tag of over ¥50k? I may disagree but many have already preordered.
Should you preorder this? If you want her, sure go ahead. It’ll cost an arm and a leg but if it makes you happy then it’s all worth it. She’s bound to go up in the aftermarket anyway so if you decide you don’t want her anymore, you can recoup your losses easily.
Azur Lane – Reno – B-style – 1/4 – Reno Bunnino (FREEing, Union Creative International Ltd)
For those who are not familiar, this is an actual skin in the game. Sure, it’s a sexy figure but I think the best part is that infectious smile. Also, if you love fishnets and feet, this is for you. If you’re worried about Union Creative being involved here, do note that Union Creative is only acting as producer and FREEing does the manufacturing. So this will be done to FREEing’s standard of quality.
Should you preorder this? I wish she was a bit cheaper but it’s either you preorder or pay the more expensive after-market prices.
Ryuo no Oshigoto! – Sora Ginko – B-style – 1/4 – Bare Leg Bunny Ver. (FREEing)
Again, the pricing on the 1/4 scale bunnies appears to be all over the place. I’m at least glad that this is only around the ¥27k price range.
Should you preorder this? The price is in the reasonable range and if you’ve been buying B-style figures, you already know what to expect. If you like her enough, I can recommend preordering. If instead, you prefer the original bunny figure with the fishnets, you have to shell out a bit more.
Ryuo no Oshigoto! – Hinatsuru Ai – B-style – 1/4 – Bare Leg Bunny Ver. (FREEing)
I’m not really a fan of children getting bunny figures so I’ll just leave it at that.
Should you preorder this? This is pretty cheap for a 1/4 scale bunny so…
No Game No Life – Jibril – B-style – 1/4 – Shampoo Ver. (FREEing)
It’s another bunny figure worth over ¥40k. If you include shipping, this could easily be over ¥50k.
As for the figure, this is a 1/4 scale from FREEing so if you’ve been buying them before, you already know what to expect. If not, then just know that FREEing consistently produces good quality figures though I don’t always agree with their pricing. Notably, this has more details than your average 1/4 scale from FREEing.
Should you preorder this? If you can afford her, go ahead. I’m sure you won’t regret it. Worst case scenario, you change your mind and you can sell her for a nice profit.
Eiga No Game No Life Zero – Schwi Dola – B-style – 1/4 – Bunny Ver. (FREEing)
Schwi is even more expensive compared to Jibril. Maybe because she’s actually wearing some clothes. This is already nearing the ¥50k mark.
Should you preorder this? Even if you consider this overpriced, it’s either this or pay even more bloated aftermarket prices. Frankly, I don’t get the 1/4 bunny figure hype but it is what it is.
Girls Frontline – QBZ-97 – B-style – 1/4 – Gretel the Witch (FREEing)
I was admiring the details of this figure so it took me a few minutes before I realized I was actually looking at a 1/4 scale. This figure looks really great though I think the facial expression could have been better. The black and red theme looks good, especially with that metallic shine on her dress. Her hair is all over the place but that’s not really a problem.
Should you preorder this? Overall, this is a really pretty figure but is it worth over ¥50k? Probably not. But if you’re going to preorder her anyway, I found her the cheapest at Amazon JP.
Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! – Megumin – KDcolle – 1/7 – Gothic Lolita Ver. (Kadokawa)
This figure of Megumin has a good amount of detail and also has a nice pose. The limited edition version from Kadokawa comes with an exclusive tapestry for roughly ¥2,000 more. Is the exclusive worth it? Not for me least. I’ve been collecting for over five years and at one point, you realize these bonus goods are just left gathering dust in storage that’s it not really worth paying extra for them. If you’re sure you want them though, you still have to jump hoops and get it from the Kadokawa store. You’ll need to use a proxy service since they will not ship outside of Japan.
Should you preorder this? The price for this Megumin figure is a bit on the steep end. Still, I’d say this is a good option if you like the Gothic Lolita look and you are still looking for a Megumin figure to add to your collection.
Girls Frontline – M4A1 – 1/7 – MOD3 (Phat Company)
Another figure on the expensive. Sometimes, I wonder why I even mention it when over 90% of figures announced fall in that category.
For this one though, one can make a case for the high price consider the amount details in this figure. Phat Company is good but a tier below Good Smile Company, Alter, and Max Factory.
Should you preorder this? If you really really like her, then consider preordering. I’m thinking the price in the aftermarket could go up.
Guilty Gear -Strive- – May – 1/7 – Another Color Ver. (Alice Glint, Broccoli)
If you got the original color version then there’s really no reason to pursue to this.
Should you preorder this? Maybe one of them bins after this one releases so it might be worth a look in the aftermarket.
Tsukihime -A Piece of Blue Glass Moon- – Ciel – 1/7 – Seventh Holy Scripture: 3rd Cause of Death – Blade (Good Smile Company)
I’m not familiar with the Tsukihime franchise. All I know is that it is made by the same company that created the Fate series.
For comparison, other Tsukihime figures did not really go up in the aftermarket so maybe this one would just follow the same pattern. Apart from that big-ass sword taking a crapton of space, the figure doesn’t really stand out. Her face doesn’t look very good. The unique base is nice though. The scuffs on the sword also improve the realism. Not to mention, this is being done by GSC so the quality should be excellent. However, the preorder numbers I’m seeing from data on MFC isn’t anything special.
Should you preorder this? You can preorder her or get her in the aftermarket. I think her price would be mostly stable. As always, take this advice with a grain of salt.
Black Lagoon – Balalaika – 1/7 – Shinku no Nyotei Ver. (Medicos Entertainment)
It’s been over a decade since Balalaika has gotten a proper scale figure. Now I feel old. If you order through the Medicos store, you can get the extra parts — hand holding a gun and the cigar is in her mouth.
This should go on the same shelf with this Revy figure.
Should you preorder this? Black Lagoon has a solid fanbase so I’m thinking preordering is the way to go.
To LOVEru Darkness – Yuuki Mikan – 1/7 – Bikini Style (Ques Q)
Trying to figure out which figure of Mikan is the best can be challenging since no single figure stands out as the best. I am at least certain this one ain’t it. This is really just lacking that flair factor.
Should you preorder this? On that note, I would not recommend preordering this. Instead, I would recommend going for Max Factory’s or Ques Q’s other figure of Mikan.
Chainsaw Man – Nyaako – Power – 1/7 (Phat Company)
Not a real fan of this figure of Power since it is kind of looks ridiculous. Nothing wrong if you like that vibe. This just really isn’t my cup of tea. If you can remove the text, then that would really dial down the ridiculousness. According to comments on MFC, it reads Papapa-Power!
Should you preorder this? I think this is quite overpriced at around ¥24k so only preorder if you really must have her. I would instead recommend getting Kotobukiya’s Power which is much cheaper or get the one by Amakuni albeit a bit pricier. Sol International’s Power could also be good so it might be worth waiting to get this instead.
Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica – Ultimate Madoka – 1/8 (Good Smile Company)
One of the most beloved figures of Madoka is getting a rerelease. I hope GSC addressed the many issues that this figure had. It is prone to leaning and many have reported they are unable to keep the large bow stable enough to be displayed. This meant many who own her were forced to use the smaller bow even if they prefer to display her with the large bow.
Should you preorder this? This is your chance to grab Ultimate Madoka at preorder price. Even if you manage to find her cheaper preowned, getting her preorder might still be the better option as older figure tend to have more issues like stickiness and leaning. Note that the initial release was 2012 and that’s over a decade ago.
Shin Evangelion Gekijouban:|| – Ayanami Rei – 1/6 (Kotobukiya)
I love Evangelion but this is 100% going to the bargain bin. I usually give high praises to Kotobukiya but not this one. The design of this figure is forgettable. It doesn’t hold a candle to Good Smile Company’s long-haired Ayanami.
Should you preorder this? Just get her long-haired figure from GSC when it releases since it will also most likely bin in the aftermarket. Or you can just browse the aftermarket now, I’m pretty sure you’ll find a cheaper and better Rei figure there.
Girls Frontline – OTs-14 – 1/7 – Divinely-Favoured Beauty Ver. (Reverse Studio)
OTs-14 already has a few figures released all wearing pretty dresses. But this one actually comes with swappable parts so you actually have 2 dress variants. But is this her best figure? Honestly, it’s quite hard to choose which one is her best figure but I’d say her APEX figure is a good choice especially since we already know APEX does good quality. Reverse Studio is still pretty much a new company with only a handful of releases. Also, her first figure from Reverse Studio does seem to have some quality issues. If you’re into 1/4 scales, her B-style figure might be more up your alley.
Should you preorder this? Whichever figure of OTs-14 you choose is all up to your preference. I think they are all good but I’m partial to the APEX figure.
Evangelion Shin Gekijouban – Makinami Mari Illustrious – Ultimate Premium Masterline (UPMEVA-03) – 1/4 – Entry Plug Interior (Prime 1 Studio)
Reality check? I’m still poor.
If you’re like me, you’re probably thinking Prime 1 Studio must be off their rocker trying to sell a figure at this price point. But the fact of the matter is, they are making an iconic figure from a very popular franchise at a very large 1/4 scale. Whether you disagree with their pricing or not, some rich person somewhere is going to buy it and flex it on social media when it releases.
Should you preorder this? I’d buy it if I can afford it.
By the way, you can still get Rei with the same 1/4 scale treatment at HLJ. As of this writing, there’s only 1 left in stock.
Huan Ta – Nemesis – 1/7 – Qi Mingxing Ver. (Ribose)
This, I believe is the first scale figure that we are getting from Tower of Fantasy. I don’t play the game though. Also, Ribose isn’t really known for being the best quality so I’d tell you to manage your expectations for this one.
Should you preorder this? Maybe the aftermarket is the way to go.
Majo no Tabitabi – Saya – 1/7 (Proof)
Saya is plenty cute here but not even remotely as popular as Elaina, which would warrant a high price tag in the aftermarket. She’ll surely be going to the bargain bin. Not that this is a bad-looking figure. The figure actually looks great and it even has a unique base. The only issue I see is that the paint seems a little too flat. Also, there’s really just no demand for her and the abysmal preorder numbers thus far is proof of that.
Should you preorder this? Just get Saya’s figure from FuRyu at half the price of this one.
Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED – Haro – Lacus Clyne – G.E.M. – 20th Anniversary (MegaHouse)
Pretty lackluster for a figure to celebrate your 20th anniversary. I’ll just leave it at that.
Should you preorder this? Despite this being an exclusive, I’m already calling it. This is going straight to the bargain bin. If you want her, just wait for her aftermarket price where she’ll be 50% off or higher. If you insist you have to preorder her, you can only get her from Amiami and a few other stores.
Blue Archive – Shishidou Izumi – B-style – 1/4 – Swimsuit (FREEing)
I’d like to think I have good taste in anime figures and this one isn’t good. It doesn’t matter that I don’t play Blue Archive. Not to mention, at ¥55k, the pricing is on the extreme end even for 1/4 scale standards.
Should you preorder this? Awful-looking figure with even more god-awful pricing. Just skip this. But if you still want to throw money at FREEing, the preorder link is below.
Mishiranu Joshikousei ni Kankin Sareta Mangaka no Hanashi – Konata – 1/4 (Bear Panda)
This figure has caused a bit of a ruckus because it is priced at only around ¥10,000 and this is a 1/4 scale bunny figure that is not made by FREEing. Yes, you’re not reading that wrong, you can preorder her for less than the price of most 1/7 scales. But is she worth it at this price? That part is somewhat difficult to answer because Bear Panda has not released any figures yet. Their first release is a standard 1/7 scale which is coming out in December. Interestingly, their 1/7 is double the price of this one. Still, even if this turns out looking like a prize figure, a 1/4 scale prize figure for ¥10k still seems like a good deal. Also, the mask can be removed and you can put the alternate expression. All in all, seems like a really good deal for a 1/4 scale.
The only issue is the shipping cost as very limited stores carry her. I can only ever find her on Amiami and they charge a crapton of money for shipping 1/4 scales especially if you are from the Western world. Not to mention, Amiami has severe delays in shipping their figures nowadays. It usually takes a week or two. It used to only take a day or two.
As for the source material, it translates to “The Story Of A Manga Artist Confined By A Strange High School Girl”. I’ll leave it to your imagination.
Should you preorder this? Seems like a very good deal for a 1/4 scale.
Original – Yuna – Cow Bikini Ver. 1/6 (Ensou Toys)
This isn’t the first Yuna figure which is an original character by Biya. This however might be the best one as Ensou Toys appears to be under the GSC umbrella of companies. By that, I mean you can buy it from the GSC store. The other two figures of Yuna are from Union Creative, which we all know is crap, and MaxCute, which is a new company.
Nonetheless, this is a pricey piece of plastic but the details just look so good. You can see how her skin sinks on the thigh-highs and you can also clearly see the attention to detail when it comes to the paint. The bovine theme is also a nice touch.
Should you preorder this? The quality should be decent if GSC is willing to put it in their storefront. That says a lot. Preorder if you like her enough.
Original – Super Bunny – 1/6 (Hobby Sakura)
My eyes! I never knew any one figure could be so pink. It’s a sexy figure and the bunny ears are quite unique. You can follow the illustrator DDUCK KONG on Pixiv.
Should you preorder this? It’s on the pricey side and I think the aftermarket is the way to go for this one.
Original – Rurumu – 1/6 – Succubus (Pure)
This is sold as a deluxe version and a standard version. The deluxe version comes with two figures — naked style and dressed style. The standard version is just a single figure but it also comes with cast-off parts. Unless you like throwing away money, I would suggest just going with the standard version and displaying the version that you prefer.
One thing to note however is that Pure is a new manufacturer. In fact, this is their first figure going up for preorder. Still, they do have a few figures lined up that I’m putting on my watch list.
Should you preorder this? Maybe this turns out great or maybe not. Preordering this is really a gamble.
I started the NekoFigs blog in January 2021, 5 years after I’ve started collecting anime figures. It all started with one humble prize figure of Saber Lily which was bought on a whim. Now, I face the big problem of how to deal with over 200 empty boxes.
