Fairy Tail – Lucy Heartfilia – B-style – 1/4 – Bunny Ver. (FREEing)
I still ask myself why I have not yet gotten myself a figure of Lucy. Should my first 1/4 scale bunny figure be of Lucy? That’s a tempting idea but I have yet to commit myself to 1/4 scales as I don’t have the space to display such massive figures.

Girls und Panzer: Saishuushou – Nishizumi Miho – 1/7 – Coco’s Cheerleader ver. (Coco’s, Kotobukiya)
Orders via the Kotobukiya store will get a bonus face plate. It’s a cute alternate expression though I think I prefer the regular version face. It is a nice bonus though. You might need to use a proxy service to purchase the bonus.

Original Character – Dark Elf Mura – Natigaru – 1/6 – Antenna Shop Limited Edition (AmiAmi, Vertex)
Not a fan of this figure. I can’t quite grasp what it is but something looks off. In terms of quality though, I think Vertex is a good company. I don’t own any Vertex figures but I have not yet seen any negative reviews on the figures that they make. The limited edition for this one comes with an alternate facial expression and a marble base.

Fate/Extella Link – Nero Claudius – 1/7 – Winter Rome, Another Ver. (Ques Q)
This is actually a recolor of the same figure that was already released twice and was also apparently an “exclusive”. Doesn’t seem very “exclusive” if it’s been released twice and now we see a recolor of it. Still, Ques Q is good and if you love this figure of Nero, then there’s no reason not to go for it.

Original Character – Sentakubasami Shione Shia (Union Creative International Ltd)
I’ve had a love-hate relationship with Union Creative so while this figure prototype does look good, I’m inclined to say stay away from Union Creative. This can either end up as a good figure with a nice paint job or something that goes straight to the bargain bin.

Fate/Grand Order – Saber Alter – 1/7 – Heroic Spirit Traveling Outfit Ver. (Good Smile Company)
It’s not often you see Saber Alter in casual wear or maybe that’s just me because I quit playing FGO years ago. I do love the mix of colors in this figure. Besides, you can’t go wrong with Good Smile Company. In any case, the market is already saturated with too many Saber figures so even if you miss this pre-order, I doubt the price will go up in the after-market.

Date A Bullet – Tokisaki Kurumi – 1/7 – Bikini Armor Ver. (Alphamax)
Really though? Bikini Armor? As much as I love Alphamax, bikini armor doesn’t sound any less ridiculous.
The Amiami Exclusive Version comes with an extra faceplate. The alternate faceplate would be preferable. The mouth seems off on the default faceplate which is probably due to the absence of visible teeth.

Original Character – Sakura Natsuki – 1/6 (Daiki Kougyou)
Since this is by Daiki Kougyou, you can be sure that it’s a cast-off. The figure looks okay until you see the original illustration. You realize then that the figure couldn’t quite capture the look in the illustration. Or maybe it’s just the angle.
Hobby Search pre-orders come with a bonus A5 mouse pad.

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai – Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen – Fujiwara Chika – Dream Tech – 1/7 (Wave)
Just when we’ve nearly forgotten about the Chika dance, Wave releases a figure of her iconic pose. While this is a definite pre-order for me, the price does make me cringe a bit. Wave has been good in my books. Their quality is great.

Azur Lane – Ning Hai – Summer Hunger (Mimeyoi)
I’ve played Azur Lane for years and while I’ve had my share of splurging cash on in-game skins, I haven’t been pre-ordering a lot of Azur Lane figures. Given the amount of ship girls there are in Azur Lane, things may escalate too fast if I let loose. Wallet-kun will not be pleased. As for Mimeyoi, it is still a new company which has been dishing out a lot of Azur Lane pre-orders. As of this writing, they have only released one figure which is the other half of Ning Hai — Ping Hai. Based on reviews, the quality seems great so that’s always a good sign.

Inuyama Tamaki Channel – Inuyama Tamaki – 1/7 – China Ishou Ver. (AmiAmi, AniGift)
Personally, I don’t get all this Vtuber hype. Between my full-time job, the daily grind on games, writing here, my parental responsibilities, and keeping up with the current anime season, watching Vtubers will simply not fit in my schedule anymore. I do own a Kizuna AI figure and the nendoroid, and now more Vtubers are getting figures.
Seems like AniGift is the company of choice for Vtuber figures but they’ve only released one figure so far and there’s not much feedback that I can gather regarding the quality.

Yurucamp – Kagamihara Nadeshiko – 1/7 (Wing)
This one looks really good. It’s not often you get a figure in a running motion. I’m wondering how the base would look like though. It they make just a simple base, seems like a real missed opportunity. That bonfire can make for something special.

I started the NekoFigs blog in January 2021, 5 years after I’ve started collecting anime figures. It all started with one humble prize figure of Saber Lily which was bought on a whim. Now, I face the big problem of how to deal with over 200 empty boxes.
