The past week has been rife with new pre-orders. We even have a (near) life-sized one. Here’s everything you need to know.
Kimetsu no Yaiba – Kamado Nezuko – F:Nex – Hakoiri (FuRyu)
If you ever wanted a life-size demon imouto, here’s one for you though it will set you back around $3,300. Shipping would cost you an extra $200 to $400. How many more kidneys do you have left?
The listing for this one does not mention it being a 1/1 scale so it is most likely a non-scale. Probably a little too small for a 1/1 scale considering the figure is only 44cm. tall. Albeit cute and iconic, I am not about to bust out my life savings on this figure which is just about the size of 1/4 FREEing bunny. If you can afford this though, pretty sure the after-market price will be insane. Personally, I think the price doesn’t make sense and this is just FurYu trying to cash in on the Demon Slayer hype.

Xenoblade 2 – Mythra and Pyra – 1/7 (Good Smile Company, Max Factory)
After reopening for a limited pre-order a few weeks ago, Mythra and Pyra again open for pre-order. This time around, Good Smile Company has left more slots for it after many people got mad for their pre-orders being cancelled due to lack of slots. Same thing happened to me. I put in my pre-order at my local collectibles store and they inform me the next day they had to cancel the pre-order due to lack of slots.

Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken – Shion – 1/7 – Okigae Mode (Ques Q)
After resurrecting, we now have Shion again giving a fan-service. Was really tempted to get this one but I had to hold off since I am still stuck deep in pre-order hell. If you’re loving this figure, go for it. Ques Q does not disappoint.

Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken – Milim Nava – Rimuru Tempest – 1/7 – Bunny Girl Style (Ques Q)
Always excited for a bunny figure that’s not a 1/4 scale. I’m not a fan of the tongue sticking out though. Some people have been complaining that she’s too skinny. Milim is skinny so manufacturers can’t be changing the aesthetics because fans want a thicc bunny. Overall, this is a good and solid pre-order.

To LOVEru Darkness – Kotegawa Yui – 1/6 – Y-Shirt ver. (Hobby Stock, Wing)
I would love to have this figure. That facial expression is priceless and captures Yui’s character. There is one large caveat though. The price tag is ridiculous. Charging over ¥16,000 for just this level of detail is highway robbery. Do yourself a favor and pre-order something else that’s worth the price tag. There are better and cheaper figures of Yui out there.

Juusan Kihei Boueiken – Fuyusaka Iori – 1/7 (R.C.Berg)
From the 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim game by Atlus is a garake kit for Fuyusaka Iori. It’s weird to see a garage kit on the pre-order section of AmiAmi. This went for sale in the 2021 Winter Wonder Festival which became an online event and this is now on pre-order. A fair warning, this is a garage kit. If you are not familiar with garage kits, you must know that this is not an assembled figure. You will need to assemble it yourself. Most garage kits would also be unpainted but this one is listed as being made with color resin so it should arrive already painted. I’ve been hearing from garage kit collectors that R.C.Berg delivers good quality so that always good to know.

Fate/Grand Order – Okita Souji – Summer Queens – 1/8 – Assassin (Our Treasure)
I don’t think we’ve been blessed with a swimsuit figure of Okita before this one. There is a cheaper version of this figure available but that one is not fully-painted and not fully assembled. I am not in touch with my artistic side so I prefer to get the pre-painted figures.

Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken – Izawa Shizue – Rimuru Tempest – 1/7 (Phat Company)
And here’s another one from the Slime anime. This is the first scale figure for Shizu. Although she is smiling, I think this is lacking in the cuteness factor. Her smile actually looks like a sad smile that will just get me depressed whenever I look at her — a personal gripe. It’s saving grace would be that it can be displayed with her holding the mask. Also, the base is unique making this one a solid pre-order.

Kimetsu no Yaiba – Tsuyuri Kanao – 1/8 (Alter)
I know Alter makes good quality figures and I applaud them for that. If only they had the heart to offer better prices then they’d be perfect. Those swirling pink thingies which I assume is wind does add a nice touch but does it warrant a price tag of over ¥15,000? I don’t think it does. It’s not even a 1/7 scale. If you think it’s reasonable, pre-order it.

Kagura Nana Channel – Kagura Nana – 1/7 – Artist Ver. (Ribose)
Even more Vtubers enter the fray. Like I said in my previous posts, I have no interest in Vtubers and I doubt I ever will develop an interest. This will be the first figure for Ribose so whether quality will be good or bad remains a mystery. The prototype does look good though.

Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou – Yue – 1/7 (Wings Inc.)
They say the light novel was good. The anime, I think, was meh. Still we’re getting more figures of Yue. This appears to be better than Kotobukiya’s Yue. Heck, this is going to be league’s better than Union Creative’s Yue. The price is steep but there’s a lot of detail on the figure. Still, it would have been better if they were able to keep this around ¥15,000.
If your wondering about the manufacturer, Wings Inc. was renamed from Souyoukusha which is under Good Smile Company. They’ve made a lot of great figures in the past so quality is assured.

Ganbare, Douki-chan – Douki-chan (Union Creative International Ltd)
This is a character from the Senpai is Mine illustrated tweets by Yom, the author that brought us Miru Tights. The limited black tights version can be purchased from the Union Creative site. Frankly, I’ve lost faith in Union Creative as a manufacturer because of how they did the Hanekawa figures. They can make it up for their blunder by doing a good job on their Chizuru figure.

Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu – Rem – F:Nex – 1/7 – Hanfu (FuRyu)
This could be one of the best Rem figures to date. It looks gorgeous. There’s plenty of details. Then again, there are already too many Rem figures out there that I no longer feel any excitement whenever a new one is announced. Maybe someone should remind these companies that there are other characters in the show too.

Date A Live – Tokisaki Kurumi – 1/7 (Kaitendoh)
Kaitendoh has always been one of those boring manufacturers. It’s like they try so hard to be just mediocre. This Kurumi figure could have so much better. Instead, it looks unpolished and boring much like all their previous releases. And priced at ¥22,000, that’s a hard pass for me.

Eiga No Game No Life Zero – Couronne Dola – Riku Dola – Schwi Dola – 1/7 (Phat Company)
Schwi Dola gets a rerelease and frankly, they should rerelease just about every other figure in the series. I’m personally not a fan of No Game No Life but after-market prices for their figures are all ridiculously high so just give the fans what they want.

High School DxD NEW – Rias Gremory – B-style – 1/4 – Bare Leg Bunny Ver. (FREEing)
I think the regular bunny version with the fish nets look better on Rias but the odds of getting that one without costing an arm and a leg is nil. The price of all Rias figures go up in the after-market so don’t skip on pre-ordering if you think want it. You will definitely regret it later.

Azur Lane – Ayanami – 1/7 – Demon`s Finest Dress Ver. (Knead)
Not a lot of good options on an Ayanami figures and given the level of detail on this, it’s easy for a company to screw it up. Knead doesn’t produce the best quality figures. Their figures are usually a hit of miss so getting this one would be a gamble. I’m holding my breath for a better company to make a figure of Ayanami.

Sword Art Online – Asuna – 1/7 – Undine Ver. (Alter)
Here we go again. Love the figure especially since I don’t have an Undine version of Asuna. But then, the pose and sculpt doesn’t seem to justify a ¥20,000 price tag. The pose isn’t that complex. No accessories. No alternative parts. Nothing special on the base either. I love Alter’s work but most of the time, their pricing is too much.

Aikatsu! – Alan – Toudou Yurika – Lucrea – 1/7 – Goth Magic Co-de (MegaHouse)
I am not familiar with the Aikatsu series but I do know that MegaHouse creates some good figures. So if you like this one and can justify a ¥20,000 price tag (I can’t), then go for it.

Grisaia no Kajitsu -LE FRUIT DE LA GRISAIA- Sakaki Yumiko – B-style – 1/4 – Bunny Ver. (FREEing)
The face looks off on this this Yumiko figure. And she might be a little too plain.
If you want her in a bunny suit, you’re better off buying one of the Orchid Seed variants. Here’s the red one which I prefer and the black one which isn’t so bad. The white one is a limited version so she’s harder to find in stock.

Arknights – Exusiai – 1/7 (Good Smile Arts Shanghai, Good Smile Company)
I only played Arknights for a while as the gameplay is a real time hog. Not saying it’s a bad game. I just couldn’t spare time for it.
As for this figure, I have nothing but high praises for it. There are a lot of details everywhere. There’s plenty of guns all of which have good details. Then there’s that thing in the background and the base is bonkers too. I think the prototype image speaks for itself.

My Little Pony – Princess Luna – Bishoujo Statue – My Little Pony Bishoujo Series – 1/7 (Kotobukiya)
This one is not for me. Maybe Kotobukiya is marketing this line to girls that grew up watching the the Little Pony shows.

I started the NekoFigs blog in January 2021, 5 years after I’ve started collecting anime figures. It all started with one humble prize figure of Saber Lily which was bought on a whim. Now, I face the big problem of how to deal with over 200 empty boxes.
