Wonder Festival, commonly known as WonFes, is a biannual event held in Japan that celebrates the figure-collecting hobby. Established in 1984 and sponsored by the Kaiyodo manufacturing company, the festival takes place every winter and summer at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. The event serves as a platform for both professional and amateur sculptors (usually from circles) to showcase and sell their “garage kits“. However, what more people from around the globe look forward to, especially those who cannot attend the event in person, are the new figures that the top anime figure manufacturers are working on.
Good Smile Company, which is the biggest manufacturer of anime figures, with many companies under its umbrella also participated in the event as part of their Wonderful Hobby Life For You event.
Don’t get me wrong. Garage kits are nice to have if you have any talent for painting your anime figures but it is not everyone’s cup of tea. So, for the rest of us who have not been blessed with art skills, we go for the commercial figures. Sadly, not all companies allow photos of their WonFes exhibits. Still, plenty of sneak peeks surface online thanks to dedicated fans with sharp eyes and even sharper camera lenses.
This time around, Winter Wonder Festival 2025 was held on February 9, 2025, at Makuhari Messe.
I’ve compiled many of the images that surfaced during WonFes 2025 winter in this Facebook album. For some reason, Imgur keeps deleting my posts, so this will have to do. You can view the album here.

I started the NekoFigs blog in January 2021, 5 years after I’ve started collecting anime figures. It all started with one humble prize figure of Saber Lily which was bought on a whim. Now, I have also started my own anime figure store which just means more box problems.
