I have been looking forward to Season 2 of Shield Hero which is why I decided to unbox Filo next only to be greeted with the news that it has been delayed to April 2022.
Well, moving on from the bad news. There is not a lot of choices when it comes to a Filo figure. You have this one, the Nendoroid, and a swimsuit version which is still in the works. There’s also another one in her Filolial form with Raphtalia which isn’t even worth a mention for having been done by a crappy company. As of this writing, you can still purchase this figure of Filo for a good price.

The Unboxing
If you plan on buying her, you’ll be pleased to know that the box is not large so the shipping cost would not be expensive. The figure itself is only 13 cm. tall. The box is pretty standard with 4 windows — nothing special really.
Despite having so many windows, displaying her in her box is not ideal because there’s so much plastic covering the figure that you can hardly see her. Unboxed and in her blister packaging, you can only just see a fraction of her face.
Just look at how much plastic is covering her. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing though.
The base has a good level of detail and I would say the color looks realistic.
Propping her on the base was a bit of a struggle. Looking into the depression for the peg, it didn’t seem like it will be a perfect fit as there was a lot of excess plastic hanging around the walls of the hole. It took a bit of effort to force the excess PVC out of the way. But once you get it done, you’ll have a nice-looking figure of Filo.
It’s a cute figure no doubt but it irks me that I can’t pose her facing in front without getting an eyeful of panty-shot. There is no need to add a panty-shot to a wholesome and cute figure such as this one.
I believe she was meant to be displayed looking to the side a bit (hiding the panty-shot) but you can still see it the moment you look at her from a left angle.
The Review
The Sculpt
The sculpt looks great on this figure. There are some minor texture issues but nothing major that is worth mentioning. Overall, no complaints on the sculpt.
The Paint
The paint would have been otherwise perfect if the figure I got did not have three paint splotches. I imagine not everyone has this issue and it’s just a stroke of bad luck that mine had this problem.
Below you can see two paint splotches on her dress.
And here’s another one on the hair of the same paint color. I imagine the painter dropped something that caused these three instances of paint splotches and decided to just ignore it. Not acceptable considering the prices that scale figures go for nowadays.
I will be sending the manufacturer a sternly worded email about this issue.
Details and Pose
The details are great and I especially love winged figures. Filo’s wings are on the small side though. The sculpt and paint on the wings are perfect nonetheless.
You can see more details on the back of the wings below.
And below you can see her beautiful golden hair also sculpted and painted to perfection.
The feet are also sculpted nicely.
The facial expression is lifelike though I am wondering why the bread is sliced on top. Whoever cuts bread this way deserves some divine punishment.
The details on the dress are also looking good. The ruffles are not perfect but are still sculpted nicely. The paint on the dress is spot on. The paint on the bread could use some work though. It looks like the lettuce was just smeared with some kind of brown sauce.
Overall Grade: 4.5 out of 5
I started the NekoFigs blog in January 2021, 5 years after I’ve started collecting anime figures. It all started with one humble prize figure of Saber Lily which was bought on a whim. Now, I face the big problem of how to deal with over 200 empty boxes.
