Here’s our round up for mid February 2021 pre-orders. We have Lala, Maid bare-leg bunnies, Kotoko, Yue, Mimimi, Elaina, C.C. Iroha, and some VN figures.
To LOVEru Darkness – Lala Satalin Deviluke – 1/6 – Swimsuit ver. (Alter)
This figure of Lala gets a rerelease after 5 years and I am still debating internally whether to get it or not. In my opinion, this could be one of the most gorgeous figures of Lala. However, I am currently looking at the number of pre-orders I currently have. Let’s just say wallet-kun is not pleased. If you missed the initial release back in 2016, here’s your second chance.
Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou – Yue (Union Creative International Ltd)
While I do think this looks better than Kotobukiya’s Yue, one user on MFC pointed out the weird pose. The figure does look though. This one is a non-scale which is common for Union Creative. Union Creative gets a bit of flak for shoddy work in the past, but I’ve bought some of their To LOVEru stuff and I’d say the quality is up to snuff.
Rem and Ram: Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu – B-style – 1/4 – Bare Leg Bunny Ver. (FREEing)
Bunny maids in 1/4 scale minus the fishnets. If you’re a fan of FREEing’s 1/4 scale bunny figures and didn’t get the regular versions, I’d say go get them. If you’re already a proud owner of the regular versions, this is not worth fussing over. Frankly, I think it’s a big slap in the face of collectors when manufacturers release a modified version of the same figure after the initial release.
Kyokou Suiri – Iwanaga Kotoko – 1/7 (Phat Company)
This figure looks great and I am still in the market for a Kotoko figure. I’ve yet to bite the bullet though. My only problem right now is that I’m being very picky with what I pre-order since I don’t have much display space left and I still have a ton of figures on pre-order. If that wasn’t the case though, this would have been an automatic pre-order.
Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun – Nanami Minami – 1/7 (Kotobukiya)
The anime so far has been mighty entertaining despite the usual tropes. Mimimi’s character development has been great so this figure was a welcome surprise. Kotobukiya has always been a company that’s early to announce a figure for new ongoing anime which leads to some people who are late to watch to miss on pre-orders.
Majo no Tabitabi – Elaina – 1/7 (Bell Fine)
This figure of Elaine lets you choose from a regular version and a DX version. The DX version has a more elaborate base. I’m not sold on either one though. If I wanted to get an Elaina figure, I’d go with the the F:Nex Elaina figure. Also, Bell Fine has been known to make crappy figures.
Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch – C.C. – Swimsuit Ver. (Union Creative International Ltd)
I’m not particularly averse to displaying lewd figures in the living room but this might be a no go for me. Cleavage and hand-bras are fine but crotches in full view might be a little too much. And this figure is exactly that. Close-up pictures also show poor craftsmanship (see pictures below). While I have been fairly satisfied with the quality of Union Creative’s To LOVEru figures, this one might be a step back for them if these glaring issues.
Love Plus – Takane Manaka – B-style – 1/4 – Swimsuit Ver. (FREEing)
So I thought the B in B-style meant “bunny”. But this is not bunny at all. I guess they just decided that all 1/4 scales by FREEing will be categorized as B-style. Takane Manake, from the dating sim Loveplus has been opened for pre-order just a few weeks after Nene Anegasaki opened for pre-order.
Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Kan – Isshiki Iroha – Nendoroid (#1564) (Good Smile Company)
I’m not a big fan of Iroha but the Oregairu nendoroid set wouldn’t be quite complete without her. Like her or hate but she completes the set. Nothing noteworthy in the accessories either. Though I am not really the type that plays around with nendoroids. I just choose one pose that I like and display it like that.
Girls Frontline – M4 SOPMOD Ⅱ – 1/7 (Amakuni, AmiAmi)
You have two options for this one: the original version and the exclusive version. They are priced the same. The exclusive version is wearing a tattered shirt whereas the original version decided to just totally ditch the shirt.
Yoake Mae yori Ruri-iro na – Feena Fam Earthlight – 1/7 – 15th Anniversary (Kotobukiya)
Feena Fam Earthlight is one of the heroines from the visual novel Yoake Mae yori Ruri Iro na. While the visual novel has an English translation available, I would think it does not have much of a fanbase outside of Japan. A manga was also serialized which got me curious so I will be checking that out. The figure was created for the 15th anniversary of the series and it looks like a decent figure. A Kotobukiya exclusive is available and comes with an acrylic portrait.
Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart 2 – Lucia Of End – 1/7 (Vertex)
Here’s another figure from another VN: Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart 2. I am not familiar with the game but the figure shows the character wearing what appears to be wedding lingerie. The Amiami exclusive comes with a bonus smiling face plate and an acrylic frame.
R.E.I.N.A – Kagurazaka Reina – 1/7 – Hatsu Fuyu ver. (Daiki Kougyou)
From what I gathered, this is a new variant of this figure. It was released a while ago in a different color and the characters appears to an original from an artist named Hiten (NSFW: link to Pixiv). If you’re familiar with Daiki Kougyou, you’ll know right of the bat that this is a hentai figure. You can cast off the uniform and the underwear to reveal a nude figure. You can view the NSFW pictures here.
“DF” Series – Rufia – 1/7 (Max Factory)
Pre-order at Amiami.
I started the NekoFigs blog in January 2021, 5 years after I’ve started collecting anime figures. It all started with one humble prize figure of Saber Lily which was bought on a whim. Now, I face the big problem of how to deal with over 200 empty boxes.
