The first half of the month is starting off with a ton of FuRyu figures which sucks. Also, prices are getting out of hand again.
If you would preorder anything, I would really appreciate it if you could use my affiliate links found throughout the post.

Otonari no Tenshi-sama ni Itsunomanika Dame Ningen ni Sareteita Ken – Shiina Mahiru – Shibuya Scramble Figure – 1/6 – Little Devil Ver. (eStream)
This is only the second scale figure of Mahiru Shiina that went up for preorder. The first one was by FuRyu which surprisingly is being offered at a reasonable price.
Going back, this Shiina figure from eStream is her first non-canon costume to get a figure. Now I’m having an internal monologue about whether I should preorder this wait or still wait for Spiritale. Spiritale’s prices are also quite high so it is very possible that it might be pricier than this one. But I’m not a big fan of the blank expression. The source art shown below has a better expression because her mouth is more open.
Should you preorder this? If you like her enough, then go ahead.
Azur Lane – Shoukaku – 1/7 – The Crane that Dances With the Wind Ver. (Apex Innovation)
This is definitely going to my preorder list. I’ve been waiting forever for a figure of Shoukaku and Zuikaku that isn’t a 1/4 scale. I am already liking the look of the prototype and I am confident that APEX will deliver a high-quality figure. Now, I normally just post one photo of each figure when doing these preorder roundups but I have to pose several for this one so you can see all the juicy details.
For those not familiar with the game, this outfit is based on one of her in-game skins. The sheer cloth looks really nice and has a lot of intricate patterns. It’s a shame the figure does not include the cranes though. The base looks really nice though with that water effect. The price is also very reasonable.
Should you preorder this? Definitely.
Azur Lane – Bremerton – 1/7 – Kung Fu Cruiser ver. (Alter)
Bremerton is an extremely popular character in Azur Lane. Personally, I am not a fan of the oversized unrealistic knockers but I can understand why people like her. The whole concept of this skin also doesn’t make sense. It just feels so out of character.
Still, the figure does have a great amount of detail and captures the in-game artwork. You can really count on Alter to do a splendid job on any figure they create. The price is on the steep end however which is typical of Alter. Still, they’re not as bad as FuRyu when it comes to pricing. When you consider the fact that FuRyu’s quality is pretty crappy, any Alter figure starts to sound like a good deal.
Should you preorder this? If you’re a big Bremerton fan and wouldn’t mind shelling out ¥25k for her, you won’t regret this.
Majo no Tabitabi – Elaina – KDcolle – 1/7 – ~My Adventure Diary~ (Kadokawa)
This can easily be one of the best figures of Elaina. It just sucks she had to be priced this much. The exclusive version comes with a tapestry which I don’t really care for. Unless the exclusive bonus is a part of the figure ensemble, it usually doesn’t really matter to me.
Kadokawa even decides to make this an “exclusive” by severely limiting stores where it can be purchased. Companies should really stop this practice. It is so anti-consumer. Heck, none of my affiliate partners carry it.
Should you preorder this? Sure, it’s a good-looking figure but not at that price point.
Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! – Chomusuke – Megumin – F:Nex – 1/7 – Shikkoku no Bara Dress ver. (FuRyu)
Any follower of these preorder roundups I do already know that I’m no fan of FuRyu. This one however might be worth considering because of the level of detail. It will all boil down to whether FuRyu can deliver a good quality product free of the usual manufacturing blunders.
I am actually still looking to add a Megumin scale figure to my collection. I’ve set my sights on the upcoming Gothic Lolita version by Kadokawa so if the price is right, this could be my first Megumin scale.
Should you preorder this? Since this is FuRyu, it has a steep price tag and may come with some quality issues, so preorder at your own risk.
Tonikaku Kawaii – Yuzaki Tsukasa – F:Nex – 1/7 – Shiromuku (FuRyu)
This is really nice because Tsukasa being wed is pretty much the core of the story. I just wish it was another company doing this. These Shiromuku figures from FuRyu have always been notoriously overpriced.
Should you preorder this? Spending money on anything made by FuRyu leaves a bad taste in my mouth so I’ll just wait for some other company to make a figure of her. That could take a while though. If you can’t wait, the preorder button is below.
Oshi no Ko – Hoshino Ai – KDcolle – 1/7 (Kadokawa)
I hate social media. Before I watched the lengthy prologue, I have already been spoiled of some of the events of the first episode. Still, the story turned dark fast. I was expecting the typical idol anime but got something entirely different and I like it.
Still, knowing how the events played out, I’m not sure I can have a figure of Ai without being a little depressed every time I see her on my display. Maybe the story gets happier. Maybe she’ll get better figures down the line. The odds are good especially since the season just started and we already have a few companies making prototypes.
Should you preorder this? FuRyu has an upcoming figure of Ai with a similar pose. If you really want her, just get this one. Skip FuRyu since it will most likely cost an arm and a leg.
Eiyuu Densetsu: Hajimari no Kiseki – Fie Claussell – 1/8 (Kotobukiya)
This has a nice dynamic pose with a cool base. Also, Kotobukiya is the only company that bothers to make figures of characters from the Trails series. Not that Kotobukiya is bad. Kotobukiya is good but that just means fans have very few options.
Should you preorder this? This is your only option for a Fie figure. The odds of another company making figures of Trails characters are slim to none.
Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu. 2 – Maple – F:Nex – 1/7 – Original Armor ver. (FuRyu)
I’m wondering why this is called the Original Armor version when this isn’t the armor that you see in the anime or in the manga. This is more like Bikini Armor version. The proportions on the figure look really off. Not to mention, this is extremely overpriced.
Also, the water looks like goop than actual water.
Should you preorder this? Nope.
Chainsaw Man – Makima – Shibuya Scramble Figure – 1/7 (Alpha Satellite, eStream)
I think this might be one of the better Makima figures thus far. I like the dynamic pose. It’s almost like she’s moving. She comes with a steep price tag, however.
Should you preorder this? I guess this might be a worthwhile preorder. Preorders from Amazon JP get a bonus face plate. Link below.
Shin Seiki Evangelion – Ayanami Rei – 1/7 – Whisper of Flower Ver. (Myethos)
This is actually a set of two figures for Ayanami Rei and Asuka Langley. You can preorder them individually or you can buy them as a bundle. You save a few bucks if you buy the bundle so I recommend doing that. Not to mention, they just look so much more balanced when displayed side-by-side.
These figures look so elegant which is not something you can say with most other Evangelion figures. And Myethos is a really good manufacturer though their pricing is usually lower than this.
Should you preorder this? I recommend buying the bundle. No reason to just get one.
If you insist on not getting both, the links below point to Ayanami Rei’s figure.
Shin Seiki Evangelion – Souryuu Asuka Langley – 1/7 – Whisper of Flower Ver. (Myethos)
This Asuka figure can be bought bundled with the Ayanami Rei figure above. Looking at how good they look together, just go get them bundled.
Should you preorder this? Yes. I recommend buying the bundle.
Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! – Aqua – 1/7 – Sneaker Bunko 30th Anniversary Ver. (Kadokawa)
I’m surprised this is getting a rerelease. Notably, this is the only scale figure of Aqua in her main canon outfit. It’s actually weird she doesn’t have more considering the popularity of KonoSuba. I guess she just pales in comparison with the popularity of Megumin. Honestly, I like Aqua better. As expected, the rerelease is priced a bit higher though she is still in the moderate-high end of anime figure prices.
What’s so intriguing about this figure though is that it does not show her panties which goes with the running gag that Aqua does not wear panties.
Should you preorder this? Preorder if you want the useless goddess. I prefer her Phat Company figure over this one. Her swimsuit figure from Good Smile Company is also a decent choice.
Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! – Megumin – 1/7 – Sneaker Bunko 30th Anniversary Ver. (Kadokawa)
Megumin is also getting a rerelease. There are a ton of Megumin figures to choose from, especially with the release of the new anime which focuses on her past.
The severe lack of Dustiness Ford Lalatina figures however is blasphemy!
Should you preorder this? Just choose which Megumin figure you want from the bunch. Just avoid anything made by B’Full, Pulchra, FOTS Japan, Union Creative and other garbage-tier manufacturers.
Monogatari Series – Oshino Shinobu – 1/7 – Maidmade (Miyuki)
The Monogatari Series is my favorite anime of all time but this figure got me flinching. Yet again, this is another overpriced piece and I’m starting to lose hope in the anime figure-collecting hobby.
The figure has a very tiny base and that’s actually a good thing. But then the huge Heart Span katana becomes a problem for collectors that have limited display real estate. This might not really be an issue for most other collectors.
Miyuki, on the other hand, has been creating only mediocre pieces most of which are from the Higurashi franchise so I’m not very confident in their work.
Odds are low that any other figure of Shinobu would be opening for preorder in the near future so if you really want a figure of the vampire loli, you can scour the aftermarket. You can find many figures of Shinobu much cheaper than this.
Should you preorder this? Honestly, it’s better to find a good figure of Shinobu in the aftermarket.
League of Legends – Kai’Sa (Apex Innovation)
As an ADC main playing Kai’sa, Caitlyn, Jhin and Ezreal, I am seriously pumped about this new figure of Kai’sa. I really like the pose as she uses her Icathian Rain skill. The base looks really good as well with all that rubble and what appear to be void creatures.
My only gripe? I just wish she was a tad cheaper.
Should you preorder this? It’s a pretty cool-looking figure being made by a top-tier manufacturer, so maybe just this time I can forgive the high price.
League of Legends – Sona – 1/7 – Maven of the Strings (Myethos)
When I first heard that Sona would be getting a figure, I was genuinely worried if it will turn out nice. Now, I can say Myethos did not disappoint as this turned out much better than I expected. The price, while on the steep end, is something I would consider fair especially given the amount of detail in this figure. They did a really good job on her face and the overall paint job is excellent.
It’s a bit funny how some people are mistaking this for Hatsune Miku.
Should you preorder this? I can definitely recommend preordering this.
THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls U149 – Tachibana Arisu – 1/7 (PLUM)
Plum is really pushing hard with its iDOLM@STER figures which started last month. Now we see another one of Tachibana Arisu. Honestly, it looks really good. She’s got a pretty face and Plum isn’t too shabby when it comes to quality so this ain’t a bad preorder at all.
Orders from the Plum Web Shop get an exclusive face plate which is a nice bonus.
Should you preorder this? Getting the extra faceplate is an option if you don’t mind the extra few thousand Yen. Otherwise, just go with the standard release.
Senki Zesshou Symphogear XV – Tsukuyomi Shirabe – 1/7 – Gear Inner Ver. (Hobby Stock, Wing)
I’d say this is a great-looking figure. I like that you can really see the tone of her muscles. It has a nice pose with a unique patterned base. Preorders from the Hobby Stock store come with an extra face plate with a smiling expression (pictured below).
Should you preorder this? Overall, I’d say this is a decent preorder with a reasonable price tag. Users outside of Japan can get the extra face plate by preordering from Amazon JP.
Shinovi Master Senran Kagura: New Link – Yozakura – B-style – 1/4 – Bare Leg Bunny Ver. (FREEing)
Are bare-leg bunnies better than the fishnet version? It all boils down to your personal preferences.
Honestly, I’m really liking Yozakura’s bunny figure. She demonstrates a good combination of cute and sexy. Also, she has more details than your regular bunny figure. Not to mention, this is well below ¥30k. Heck, she’s cheaper than some 1/7 scale figures going up for preorder. Still, you have to consider that shipping a 1/4 scale would cost more.
Should you preorder this? If you’re a Senran Kagura fan, then this is a good preorder.
Shinovi Master Senran Kagura: New Link – Yumi – B-style – 1/4 – Bare Leg Bunny Ver. (FREEing)
Out of the hat comes the bunny! If you’re getting Yozakura then she goes together with Yumi. For a 1/4 bunny figure being under ¥30k, I think this is a good deal.
Should you preorder this? Get her with Yozakura.
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun T – Saten Ruiko – B-style – 1/4 – Bunny Ver. (FREEing)
It’s perplexing how some 1/4 scale bunny figures have a price of close to ¥40,000 while others only linger around the ¥25k range when they have a similar level of detail. It’s a shame because this looks really nice. The black bunny theme fits her jet-black hair. Still, I cannot justify spending a boatload of money on something as basic as a B-Style figure from FREEing.
Should you preorder this? While Saten is a lovable character in the Railgin series, I cannot recommend it at this price. This is just daylight robbery.
Ayakashi Triangle – Kazamaki Matsuri – B-style – 1/4 – Bunny Ver. (FREEing)
I just found out today that Ayakashi Triangle was done by Kentaro Yabuki, the same person that brought us To LOVEru. Heck, the protagonist looks like Yuki Rito (at least before the genderswap happened). And of course, you can expect Yabuki’s work to be ecchi.
So, if you like armpits then this figure is specially made for you. Honestly, I think it looks a little weird. I looked up toned armpit images on Google. In Incognito Mode of course. Wouldn’t want the missus to find out I’ve been Googling “toned armpits”. They look nothing like this.
Should you preorder this? If you like the character and can overlook the armpits, then go ahead and preorder. I forgot to mention this is on the pricey side of 1/4-scale bunnies so that’s something to consider as well.
Love Live! School Idol Festival – Tsushima Yoshiko – 1/7 (Alter)
These Love Live figures from Alter are the bomb! The same holds true for these next two figures. The level of detail is over the top and since this is being done by Alter, the quality is guaranteed to be top-tier. But then, idol figures are never really that popular. Usually, their prices tank in the aftermarket so it might be a good idea to wait for this to hit the aftermarket. Actually, you can even check the aftermarket now for Alter’s previous releases of Love Live figures and you can find them at a bargain.
This is the second release and this particular figure did not tank particularly hard. You can still can find her in the aftermarket sometimes at a lower price than this rerelease.
Should you preorder this? This is a good figure without a doubt. Since this is a rerelease, preordering might not be the best choice as her price will most likely tank in the aftermarket. But if you don’t want to risk it, the preorder buttons are below.
Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS – Watanabe You – 1/7 – Miracle Voyage (Alter)
This one is a new release and it’s cute as heck. The details are as good as you’d expect from Alter. Not all of Alter’s Love Live figures tank in the aftermarket and it’s tough to predict which ones will. For me at least. I’m not very familiar with which Love Live characters are the most popular ones. What I do know is, even at full price, she’ll be worth every penny.
Should you preorder this? Overall, even if her price doesn’t tank, she wouldn’t go up by a lot. Preorder now if you don’t want to risk it.
Guilty Gear -Strive- – Bridget – 1/7 (Spiritale, Wing)
I know this is a bishoujo figure blog but I welcome figures of characters who identify as female so we’ll be using female pronouns to refer to Bridget.
Frankly, I’m not a big Guilty Gear fan. I have not played any of their games. This figure however does have plenty of good details. Her pose is iconic though she is priced on the moderately high end. The figure has a unique base too so I’m thinking the price seems reasonable. And Spiritale is a decent manufacturer. Given Spiritale’s previous figures though, I’m actually thinking they priced this cheaper than they normally would.
Should you preorder this? Bridget has plenty of other figures in the works so it might be worth checking her other figures so you can plan ahead and get the one you genuinely like. Check here.
Persona 5 – Takemi Tae – 1/7 (Amakuni, Hobby Japan)
This is a rerelease so this is your chance to get her if you missed the initial release. However, the face looks off. Not to mention, her price increased so much compared to the initial release. Still, the odds are low that any other company will pick her up to create a new figure so this is pretty much your only chance to get a figure of her.
She comes with alternate parts so you can display her without her lab coat.
Should you preorder this? Her face could be better but this is probably your only chance to get a figure of her. If you really must have her, then go for it.
To LOVEru Darkness – Tearju Lunatique – 1/4 (Mimeyoi, Union Creative International Ltd)
If you’re a To LOVEru fan, you must be ecstatic about this figure. However, considering this is being done by Union Creative and with that massive price tag, this is not something you should preorder. Union Creative does very good product photography. I’ll give them that. However, the final product is never anything near the quality that is shown in the promotional photos. What you’ll get in the mail is a 1/4 scale figure with the quality of a prize figure. Even with their recent releases, they’ve never shown any hint of wanting to improve their quality despite overwhelming negative customer feedback. So there is no reason to keep preordering their products.
Should you preorder this? Nope.
To LOVEru Darkness – Yuuki Mikan – 1/6 – Y-Shirt Ver. (Hobby Stock, Wing)
I’d normally be recommending Hobby Stock figures as they usually create good quality. I’m not saying this is bad but it’s just way too simple for the price tag. Any other figure of Mikan that isn’t done by Pulchra or FOTS Japan is better than this.
Should you preorder this? Just opt for a different figure of Mikan.
Princess Connect! Re:Dive – Ilya Ornstein – 1/7 (Wing)
PriConne Re:Dive is easily one of the best gacha games that I’ve played. It just sucks that Crunchyroll fucked up the Global server. If you are reading this and you are playing any gacha game published by Crunchyroll, do yourself a favor and don’t drop money into that game. Crunchyroll has been notorious for abruptly ending service for games that have low income. I regret wasting over 2 years playing the global version. I should have just played on the Japanese server.
Moving forward, I would recommend purchasing this figure if you are a PriConne fan and can afford it. Not a single dime is going to Crunchyroll as this is licensed by Cygames. It’s much pricier than I hoped it would be but it is extremely detailed. If you say you prefer her loli form, I’d say you’re mistaken. This is leagues better.
Should you preorder this? If the price is within your means, then go ahead.
Date A Live – Tokisaki Kurumi – KDcolle – 1/7 – Black Bunny ver. (Kadokawa)
I really hate it when companies do a repainted rerelease of certain figures especially if the latter release looks so much better. Thankfully, for this one, I do prefer the initial release which has a red and black color scheme. I can’t say the same for everyone else. Some might prefer this black and white version.
This repainted rerelease is a tad pricier compared to the preorder price of the initial release. Then again, the Yen is down so it might actually be around the same price. You can still buy the initial release pre-owned if you prefer.
Should you preorder this? Buy this or the initial red version release. It all boils down to your preferences.
SSSS.Gridman – Takarada Rikka – 1/7 (Phat Company)
This is a rerelease and is easily the best figure of Rikka in her default outfit. I don’t own this particular figure but I can vouch for Phat Company’s quality.
Should you preorder this? Yes, definitely get her. Or you can instead get the Alphamax swimsuit version. Not the crap from Our Treasure below.
SSSS.Gridman – Takarada Rikka – Summer Queens – 1/8 – Competition Swimsuit Ver. (Our Treasure)
This comes at a significant markup from the previous prepainted releases from Our Treasure. Compared to other scale figures being released now, however, this is pretty cheap. The caveat is that Our Treasure isn’t really known for creating good-quality figures. You can easily tell this figure is not up to the standard seasoned collectors are used to. Her face just looks so bad.
It does come with an alternative hairpiece but that doesn’t really make this a better deal. On top of that, they severely limited the number of stores that carry her.
Should you preorder this? Want my advice? Don’t bother looking for this. Instead, get her Alphamax Swimsuit figure which is still on preorder. er figure from Phat Company is also a good choice. They are all roughly the same price and these figures are leagues better in terms of quality.
Engage Kiss – Kisara – F:Nex – 1/7 – Devil ver. (FuRyu)
I’ve heard the anime was pretty crappy. I tried searching if the manga is any good but it appears the manga only serves to boost the anime. Usually, it’s the other way around. You see a good manga or light novel get adapted into an anime to boost the sales of the published work.
I only watched the first episode and I didn’t like the main character being a major douche. Honestly, I do not know if it gets better or if there is some sort of explanation for the MC acting the way he does. I guess I’ll never find out because I’m not wasting time checking out episode two.
Also, fuck FuRyu. Even if you like the show, FuRyu, with its overpriced crap doesn’t make this a worthwhile purchase.
Should you preorder this? Don’t preorder any overpriced crap from FuRyu.
ARMS NOTE – Suieibu no Buchou-chan – 1/7 (Amakuni, Hobby Japan)
The manufacturer was going for a wet/sweaty look on this figure and I think it works. The figure photos look good. I’m just wondering how good it will look in real life as opposed to viewing it on a screen. Still, Amakuni, in my opinion, is one of the most trustworthy figure manufacturers out there. I think the price tag is leaning on the reasonable end so this might be a worthwhile preorder.
Should you preorder this? Amakuni is good so preorder if you like her enough.
Original Character – Cat Eye Girl – 1/7 (Lemoe Figure)
This company has only a handful of figures listed on MFC. I’m not sure why this particular figure is not yet listed on MFC though. They appear to be a Japanese company that was established from a circle. Their website shows a few other figures they are working on and they are looking good. I cannot confirm however if their previous releases are any good.
The figure has a good amount of detail and even if it turns out to be of good quality, there’s still a good chance she’s going to the bargain bin.
Should you preorder this? Maybe wait for her to hit the aftermarket.
Original – Hitoyo-chan (Union Creative International Ltd)
Seems like a really nice original character and the prototype looks really good. But seeing as this is being done by Union Creative, all the excitement goes down the drain. This is just a waste of money and you’ll be better off waiting for her to hit the bargain bin.
Should you preorder this? Union Creative does really good product photography but always fails to deliver quality figures. So, no. You should not preorder anything from Union Creative.
Original – Tannin no Kyoushi (Union Creative International Ltd)
Just the same as the one above. The odds are very low that anything from Union Creative will ever be worth your money. The photos actually look quite nice but you can also see that this figure has the usual prize figure finish you see in Union Creative’s figures.
Should you preorder this? If you really want her, try to find her for very cheap in the aftermarket.
Original – Majime-chan – 1/7 (Daiki Kougyou)
If you don’t know the drill, Daiki Kougyou pretty much only makes cast-off figures. So yes, this is a full frontal cast-off. I really like her facial expression though Daiki Kougyou isn’t really known for producing the best quality.
Should you preorder this? Daiki Kougyou is not the best quality so waiting to see if her price drops in the aftermarket is an option.
Original – Kasshoku Maihime – 1/6 (Apocrypha Toy)
I know this is a new company but this figure looks really nice. The default expression isn’t the best. Thankfully, there is an alternate one. If I were a collector that collects figures with this level of lewdness, this would be a sure preorder for me. Only reason I don’t is because there’s a kid in the house. Choice words in her thigh tattoo also heighten the lewd factor.
Do note however that this is not technically a cast-off. She already leaves very little to the imagination. You can’t really remove any other piece of clothing.
Should you preorder this? I’d say yes. I would even if this is being done by a new company.
Original – Koakuma-chan – 1/6 (Charm, Wings Inc.)
This one is an original cast-off figure based on an artwork of Blade who draws a lot of NSFW lolis. Do note that this is a full cast-off and that Charm is a branch of Wings Inc. that creates cast-off figures, So, if it’s anything like Wings Inc., you can bet that their figures are of good quality. This comes with alternate torso parts for the cast-off.
Should you preorder this? Should be of good quality. Go ahead and preorder if you like her.
Original – Yuri-chan – 1/7 (Daiki Kougyou)
This had me confused for a while because this is done by Daiki Kougyou which usually only does cast-off figures. But the MFC entry for this one does not have the cast-off tag. And then you can only see one promotional pic showing her skirt lifted up showing her bare butt. It does seem like only the skirt will be cast-off.
Should you preorder this? Daiki Kougyou’s quality is usually suspect so only preorder if you like her enough.
I started the NekoFigs blog in January 2021, 5 years after I’ve started collecting anime figures. It all started with one humble prize figure of Saber Lily which was bought on a whim. Now, I face the big problem of how to deal with over 200 empty boxes.
